For the first of our podcasts celebrating this year’s Glasgow Film Festival SWH! spoke to festival co-directors Allison Gardner and Allan Hunter. What unfolded was a warm, fun, and fascinating chat about this year’s programme, the GFF ethos, the vital relationship with audiences, the challenges of programming a festival, the multiple strands, how the festival has grown, some memories of past galas and glories, and so much more.
It’s a lovely conversation with two film-lovers who are clearly great friends, and who believe they have their ideal jobs. Talking to them, and considering the success of previous festivals as well as the amazing programme for this year, we would have to agree.
You can download the GFF20 brochure here, and keep updated throughout the festival on Facebook and Twitter @glasgowfilmfest #GFF20. You can also sign up to the GFT Enewsletter which is not only essential for the festival, but all year round.
This is the first of a series of podcasts in conjunction with GFF 2020, most of which will be with you during the festival itself (26th February – 8th March) when we’ll be talking to various filmmakers, directors, and others involved with this year’s films and events. We’ll let you know when they are available, but the best way to make sure you don’t miss any would be to subscribe – (see below).
If you are new round these parts there is quite a substantial back-catalogue of podcasts for you to discover. If you aren’t yet a subscriber you can do so, (or simply listen) at iTunes, on Podbean, with Spotify, or by RSS (but you’ll need to have an RSS reader to do so).
You can also download the podcast by clicking on the relevant link to the right of this post, or, if you want it right here, right now, you can listen on SoundCloud…
