Scots Whay Hae! has once again joined forces with our good friends at Into Creative to present the latest Scots Whay Hae! & Into Creative x Conversations, where Ali catches up with creative characters of all kinds to talk about their life and work.
Over this series we are building up an archive of cultural exchanges which give unique insight into some of the most interesting and inventive artists at work today.
The third episode is with writer George Paterson to discuss his second novel Westerwick (right - published by Into Books), which could be described as a supernatural/psychological thriller, but is so much more.
The two talk about the setting of Glasgow's West End and why it is central to the plot, the mysterious isle of 'Westerwick', the wide range of influences on the novel, and the joys, and dangers, of taking a literary walk on the dark side.
It's always a pleasure to talk to George about his writing (you can still listen to a previous SWH! podcast about his debut novel The Girl, the Crow, the Writer and the Fighter) and it was fascinating to be able to get such an insight into what is a complex and captivating novel.
