There are fewer things guaranteed to raise the spirits round our way than new music from Mitchell Museum. They are one of those bands who have been regulars on the pages of Scots Whay Hae! since way back in 2010, when their debut album The Peters Port Memorial Service was one of the best of that year, and, in sign of what was to come, was released on vinyl.
That was a sign that this was a band who did things differently, and in their own way. To reinforce that point they are back with ‘Hold Me Up’ on Scottish Fiction which, to quote the press release…

It is also excellent, as anyone familiar with the band would expect. Cammy Macfarlane’s unmistakeable vocals, unusual rhythms, loops and samples, repeated refrains, distinctive drum and bass – all of this and more are in place and come together to create a song which will put a smile on your face and gladden the heart – it could only be Mitchell Museum:
