For anyone who has a passion for all things poetic, the only place to be this Thursday evening is the Scottish Poetry Library, the spiritual, and physical, home of Scottish Poetry.
They are hosting a debate called ‘What I Love/What I Hate about Poetry’ and the panel includes the playwright David Greig, poet and academic Gerry Cambridge, critic Alan Taylor, poet Stav Poleg and the Makar herself, Liz Lochhead.
Chaired by the Library’s Director, Robyn Marsack, and with audience participation encouraged, this promises to be the most fun you’ve had in a library without being asked to leave. Tickets are £7, with concessions £5 and if you’ve never visited then this is the perfect excuse to do so. Even if you can’t make it on Thirsday I urge you to spend time there as it is one of Scotland’s cultural treasures.
