Bis in Barca…

Tomorrow afternoon in beautiful Barcelona Glasgow’s Bis will take to the stage at the Primavera Sound Festival, one which will later see Wild Beasts, The XX, The Slits, Broken Social Scene, the mighty The Fall and Pavement. And that’s just the Thursday. Over the weekend you could see Wilco, Shellac, Hope Sandoval, Lee Scratch Perry and an amazing Saturday night line up finish of the electro triumvirate that is Gary Numan, Orbital and The Pet Shop Boys.

There can be no better reason for reforming than having the chance to play alongside such well kent folk, but I hope that Bis go on to play throughout the summer. A hot summer’s day, and it looks as if we may have a few this year, can only be improved by a bit of Bis. Below is a short clip of the band before and on stage at Glasgow’s Stereo last Sunday night as they warmed up for Primavera:

And here they are in their early pomp, when, to borrow from Marc Bolan, the people were fair and had sky in their hair. This is the video for Kandy Pop:

Best of luck to Bis, and I hope that everyone that made it to Barcelona has the best of times.
